Hi and welcome to our farm, Canara Farm.

Hi and welcome to our very special market garden, at Canara Farm, Mylor. We are delighted to introduce Pete Lawrence. In this regular newsletter series we are going to look at the crops that we grow here and a little bit of history about the farm and our joint venture business between the Lizard Leaf Company and Veggies & More by WestCountry.

'' We've been at Canara Farm for 13 years, originally we started growing on the Lizard Peninsula hence the name the Lizard Leaf Company. We've been specialist growers of fine gourmet salad leaves and herbs since 2003. ''

'' We now grow a wider range of crops from the famous Lizard Leaf Salad mix to very small scale experimental crops. This season we have in the ground spring onions, carrots, head lettuce, tomatoes, cabbage, turnips, beetroot, squash, runner beans, herb pots, micro greens, leeks and lots, lots more. We are also experimenting with a bit of fruit moulding to make star shaped courgettes and heart shaped cucumbers which are growing in the poly tunnels. ''

We are coming into some fantastic seasonal produce now and within 3 to 4 weeks we will have a nice flow of summer produce available. We hope you have enjoyed our brief introduction to Pete and the farm, and we look forward to sharing more with you. See you soon!
